ANNA BULKINA

25-year-old Russian pianist, ANNA BULKINA, graduated from the Sergei
Rachmaninoff Conservatory under Professor Rimma Skorokhodova. In
2008, she came to the United States to continue her study at the
Texas Christian University on the Lili Kraus Scholarship, and is
currently working toward a Master Program, under the guidance of
Dr. Tamas Ungar. Anna Bulkina is fast establishing herself as one
of the rising star of concert pianists of her generation, having
won many important competitions. Her first success was winning the
Chopin International Piano Competition for Young Pianist in Szafarnia,
Poland at the age of 12. Thereafter, she presented recitals around
the country.
In 2009, she was the National Winner of the MTNA Young Artist Piano
Competition Finals in Atlanta, Georgia, and as a prize she was awarded
a Steinway grand piano. In the same year, she also won the 59th
Wideman Piano Competition in Shreveport, Louisiana, and the 50th
Annual Sorantin International Competition in San Angelo, Texas.
In February 2010 she played Prokofiev Second with San Angelo Symphony,Cond.
Hector Guzman. In June 2010 Anna Bulkina participated in Piano Texas
Academy and Festival and performed Schumann Concerto with Fort Worth
Symphony Orchestra , Cond. Miguel Harth-Bedoya. In September 2010,
Anna Bulkina won 2-nd prize at the 26-th International piano competition
"Valsesia Musica" in Varallo ( Italy). In November 2010
she won 2-nd prize at the 5-th China International piano competition
(Xiamen, China) and performed with China National symphony orchestra
( conductor Lin Tao) Mozart Concerto in C minor K 491 and Prokofiev
Concerto № 2. She also performed at the National Center of the Performing
Arts (Beijing), Qingdao People's Hall (Qingdao), Hubei Theatre (Wuhan),
Ningbo Grand Theatre (Ningbo).
Anna Bulkina has performed widely in Russia, including appearances
with various orchestras.
Starting in 2006, Anna Bulkina became a yearly participant in a
Russian performers' program named "Superior Performing Course"
in St. Petersburg. This created other performance opportunities
in various concert halls in St. Petersburg. In April 2007, she performed
Chopin's Concerto No.1 at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and Prokofiev
Concerto No.2 with St. Petersburg state Academic Symphony Orchestra
in October 2009.
In August 2011 Anna Bulkina won 1-st prize at the Concours International
de Piano "Virtuoses du futur", Crans Montana ( Zwitzerland)
and in September 2011 she won 2-nd prize at the " Ferrucсio
Busoni International piano competition" in Bolzano ( Italy).
